End time is an estimate. 🌿✨ Season of Nonviolence Inspired Plant-Based Gathering ✨🌿 Join us on March 31st at 12:30 PM at Kapiolani Beach Park for a meaningful Legacy Tribute to honor the memory of activists who have fought tirelessly for justice, equality, and greatness. As we approach the anniversaries of the remarkable Martin Luther King Jr. (4/4) animal activist Tom Warby (4/3), and Jesus, who was believed to be killed on 4/3 - let us remember their incredible contributions to social justice and well-being of all - and commit to continuing their work for freedom from oppression. It is also Cesar Chavez day - a civil rights activist that realized that "Animals feel afraid, cold, hungry and unhappy like we do…”. In addition to celebrating these legends who have passed, we will also be commemorating the birthday (4/1) of the exceptional local animal activist, Kiana Mohika-Miyashiro. 🐷 Kiana's heart is pure gold, and she extends her compassion to nonhuman animals by using her voice to speak out for them, and by operating a local rescue. 🐶 This event will be a celebration of all their legacies and a testament to the power of community and compassion. Together, we'll enjoy the serene beauty of the beach park, engage in meaningful conversations, and indulge in a delicious array of plant-based dishes, have a sound bath, and share healing for our community, animals, and the world. 🌱🥗 What to Bring: 🥗🌱 We invite you to bring your favorite plant-based dish to share with the community. Not sure what to cook or bring? Down to Earth and Whole Foods will have a variety of vegan options available. Remember, all food must be completely plant-based/vegan to uphold the message of nonviolence towards all beings. If you're unsure about the plant-based status of your dish, feel free to DM us. If you have sound bowls, bring those! This will be a healing day. Dogs and other friendly companion animals are welcome and encouraged to join! Let's come together in the spirit of peace, compassion, and solidarity as we honor the past and work towards a brighter, more compassionate future. For any inquiries, please reach out to the event organizer, Amanda Fox, at 808-367-5128. See you there! 🌟
