🗳️ The overhaul of Portland’s City Council includes new districts, a much larger council, ranked-choice voting, and a great opportunity for us to support some of the candidates with animals’ best interests in mind. Jonathan Tasini, one of our endorsed candidates for Portland City Council, has been working hard, hitting the streets and knocking on doors to talk to voters.
🚪 Door-to-door campaigning is the key to victory so we are excited to come together to canvass for and support Jonathan and his campaign.
🧑🧑🧒 This event is ALL AGES so bring the family! *Please leave your furbabies at home.
🌮 Meet us at Chilango PDX at 5:30pm for a FREE dinner and briefing, hosted by the campaign. At 6:30pm we will venture out into the neighborhood to talk to voters at their homes for 60-90 minutes—roughly the time it takes to do a turf, depending on how many people are at home.
💌 Please keep your RSVP up-to-date so we know how much food to order. Before the event, we ask that you download the program miniVan to your phone (Google Play or Apple App Store) and spend a few minutes becoming familiar with its basic functions—all the campaign’s canvassing data is featured and stored via this easy-to-use app.
ABOUT JONATHAN TASINI:
🌎 Jonathan has long advocated for animals, the planet, and people. As a young adult, Jonathan was active in Greenpeace and even served on the USA board. While at Greenpeace he became deeply immersed in the fight to stop commercial whale hunting. He is also vegetarian and agrees that life is better when shared with companion animals.
