Protest Aldi's Support of Cages at Grand Opening in Torrance, CA

-> 4240 Redondo Beach Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504, USA
->
Of all the terrible ways used to lock up farmed animals, cages are at the top of the list. Aldi, a German-based international grocery chain, allows this cruel factory farming practice for animals their US supply chain. However, in Germany, Aldi is known for their progressive animal welfare standards and does not use battery cages for hens or gestation crates for pigs. A growing number of companies, including Aldi’s competitors like Kroger, Target, and Costco, are ending the confinement of animals in cages. It is a cruel practice, and several U.S. states and countries worldwide have already banned it. Pigs and hens shouldn’t spend their entire lives suffering in cages for Aldi US. Join us to speak out against the extreme animal abuse Aldi allows! Low prices don't have to mean low standards! Please arrive no later than 7:45am. The ribbon cutting ceremony starts at 8am and we would like to begin before then. Aldi grand-openings usually have long lines of people because they give away prizes, therefore this will be an impactful event to raise awareness about the campaign. We will be handing out leaflets, chanting, showing footage of gestation crates and outreaching customers in line. Posters will be provided. Please refrain from wearing clothing with wording on it as to not distract from our main message.
