IMPORTANT INFORMATION! PLEASE READ TO END!!
We're back this year at Uhuru Flea Market for one of our favorite outreach events to spread the animal liberation message! We will also be giving out free vegan food samples.
All funds raised will be donated to animal sanctuaries. In the last three years at Uhuru, we raised almost $4,000 (2021- $1368, 2022 - $1243, and 2023 $1376). And so far this year (2024), we raised $500 in April for Fluffy Butt Rescue in Holland, NJ, $220 in May for Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, $400 in June for Uncle Neil's Home, A Farm Sanctuary in Mantua Township, NJ, and $300 in August for Henry's Haven in Middletown NJ.
We will set up starting at 8:00 am and sell from our space from 9 am to 4 pm, and packing up from 4 pm to 5 pm. Please include the hours you are committing to in the comments or send an email to philly4animals@gmail.com
PARKING: You can usually find free street parking near the flea market (43rd and Chester) although you may have to walk a block or two.
HOW TO FIND US: Our space is usually on 43rd Street, south of Chester. The spaces are usually marked in chalk along the sidewalk, and ours is around #53 (or might be marked "Bessey"). Look for a bowl of water near the sidewalk set out for dogs - that's us! CALL MARIANNE AT 610-733-1248 if you have trouble finding us.
This is a really fun event. In addition to selling items, we have a table with animal liberation information and free vegan snacks, which has generated some fantastic discussions. A wonderful farmers market is also in Clark Park, right next to where we set up. It's a unique way to spread the message and have fun at the same times.

We always appreciate donations - please, try to contribute things that will sell, NOT junk like your used underwear or your homemade tapes (actual past donations!) Suggested items include tools, sports stuff, vinyl record albums, small furniture, toys, small electronics, office equipment, kitchenware, new or gently used linens, JEWELRY (always a good seller) and unique items (ornaments, etc). THANKS everyone who contributed items for our flea market sales in the past! NOTE: donations are NOT a requirement to volunteer. This event was set up for people to volunteer the day of the flea market. Donations are always welcome, however!
****** At the current time, we are not accepting books or clothing donations unless pre-cleared with the organizers ******
