IMPORTANT INFORMATION! PLEASE READ TO END!!
SEASON FINALE FOR UHURU FLEA MARKET! However, we will have two more flea market fundraisers this year that we are organizing - Fall Pre-Halloween Market on Saturday, October 19 at the Rotunda in West Philly, and our annual Holiday Bizarre on December 8, also at the Rotunda. Stay tuned for more details!
We are back this year at Uhuru Flea Market for one of our favorite outreach events to spread the animal liberation message! We will also be giving out free vegan food samples.
All funds raised will be donated to animal sanctuaries. In the last three years at Uhuru, we raised almost $4,000 (2021 - $1368, 2022 - $1243, and 2023 - $1376). And already in 2024, we raised $500 at the April market donated to Fluffy Butt Rescue, $220 at the May market donated to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, and $400 at the June market donated to Uncle Neil's Home, A Farm Sanctuary, $300 at the August market donated to Henry's Haven in Middletown, NJ, and $335 at the September market donated to Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Wantage, NJ.
PLEASE RSVP HERE IF YOU CAN DEFINITELY COMMIT TO AT LEAST ONE HOUR.
We will set up starting at 8:00 am and sell from our space from 9 am to 4 pm, and packing up from 4 pm to 5 pm. Please include the hours you are committing to in the comments or send an email to philly4animals@gmail.com
PARKING: You can usually find free street parking near the flea market (43rd and Chester) although you may have to walk a block or two.
HOW TO FIND US: Our space is usually on 43rd Street, south of Chester (near Regent Street). The spaces are usually marked in chalk along the sidewalk, and ours is around #53 or "BESSEY". You can also look for a huge bowl of water on the sidewalk set out for dogs - that's us! CALL or TEXT MARIANNE AT 610-733-1248 if you have trouble finding us.
This is a really fun event. In addition to selling items, we have a table with animal liberation information, which has generated some fantastic discussions. A wonderful farmers market is also in Clark Park, right next to where we set up. It's a unique way to spread the message and have fun at the same times.

We always appreciate donated items - please, try to contribute things that will sell, NOT junk like your used underwear or your homemade tapes (actual past donations!) Suggested items include tools, sports stuff, wall hangings/pictures, toys, small electronics, office equipment, kitchenware, new or gently used linens, JEWELRY (always a good seller) and unique decorative or collectors items (ornaments, etc). Anything brand new with tags is appreciated other than clothes or books - please check with the organizing before bringing clothes or books.) THANKS everyone who contributed items for our flea market sales in the past! NOTE: donations are NOT a requirement to volunteer. This event was set up for people to volunteer the day of the flea market. Donations are always welcome, however! Pickup can also be arranged. ![img](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/teb/2/16/1f642.png)
