Raleigh, NC: Protest Against Cruel Cages at Food Lion! #2

End Corporate Greed. Demand Transparency. Empty Cruel Cages! 🚨 Attention North Carolina shoppers! Did you know that Ahold Delhaize, owner of massive grocery store brands like Food Lion, is responsible for abusing millions of hens a year? The average egg sold by Food Lion comes from a hen who will spend almost all of her life crammed in a cage. She has painful open lesions all over her feet, caused by the sharp wire mesh floors. She can't escape when attacked by her equally miserable cage-mates. She suffers from brittle bones that easily snap. She can't even spread her wings, or lay down comfortably. Food Lion executives know this animal abuse is happening, and they promised to end cruel cages in their egg supply chains by 2025. Despite this, they have yet to make meaningful progress toward this commitment. Join us at the Raleigh Food Lion (12345 Strickland Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613) on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:30pm to send a powerful message to greedy executives! By holding this massive company accountable to fulfilling their animal welfare policies, we can meaningfully reduce suffering now, challenge the status quo, and disrupt animal agriculture by costing the egg industry billions of dollars. By attending this and any other The Humane League event, you agree to adhere to The Humane League's Safer Spaces Policy and the event terms & conditions. Thank you for creating an uplifting and supportive space for all activists in our community! The Humane League exists to end the abuse of animals raised for food by influencing the policies of the world’s biggest companies, demanding legislation, and empowering others to take action and leave animals off their plates.
